The drinking scene- how to avoid it taking over your season.

It's very easy to get sucked into the “let’s go just for one” lifestyle and end up oversleeping your first tracks alarm or spending your bluebird powder day-off in bed nursing the mother of all headaches. So here are some ways to have fun outside of the après and après après bars.

Activities

Have a clear plan of the activities other than skiing or snowboarding that you're going to do in your spare time. Check out the local sports centers, could you go swimming? Climbing? ice-skating? Any good hikes? Cross country skiing? Find your favorite café to read the latest novel, or ski to a gorgeous lookout point with your paint brushes or sketch pencils and

create a master piece.

Get out that yoga mat and some YouTube tutorials for the ultimate relax and all needed

stretch session.

Feeling really stiff and sore? Book a massage or physio session. Or even as simple as building a snow sculpture for all your friends to gawp at. Have you been shooting all those embarrassing falls and epic powder slashes? Get on your laptop and start editing them into a season video! You just need to have something to focus on and relax you when you aren’t riding.

Take advantage of that 1 -2 our nap time.

Rest and recuperation is just as important as staying busy and active.

Shut off your social media, your Netflix and your kindle, shut off the lights to the outside world and treat yourself to your daily recoup. Some seasonaires like myself like to nap alone, shut of from the rest of the world and have some me time. Its also really nice to stick a movie on and cwtch up on the sofa with your housemates and the duvet and settle in for a good nap.

Sometimes going for a drink can also be really lovely, but this time ditch the ski shot stick and get a little dressed up. Instead of going to your local dive seasonaire bar, why not try somewhere a little more sophisticated to try some local wine or check our the local brewery, or a great restaurant for their desserts and hot chocolate one afternoon. Remember its ok to treat yourself in other ways too!
