Mastering Your Mindset for Seasonaire Success: Key Steps to Achieve Your Goals
Having a healthy strong mindset is key to achieving success. Join me in this article to explore my important steps to becoming the seasonaire you want to become. How are we going to make anything happen if our mind is not alive?
If we think about our mindset, it is the environment that we live in, our emotional self. What does your environment do for you right now? Does it drive you forward or does it hold you back, paralyze you? My biggest fear in life is getting to 80 years old, asking myself what did I do in my life? What did I not do because I was afraid? Why didn't I go after my dreams? Laying on a deathbed and looking back on all of the things i could have done but didn't. I also think about reaching the age and realizing that it's too late. So this is a big drive in my life.
My mission now is to help you also take charge of your life. I have created this blog to help regular people like you and me to escape mediocrity. I don't want you to just exist, being afraid to do the things that you want to do. As we do this workshop together I want to ask you, what do you want to get out of life? What do you want to tell yourself on your deathbed about what you did with your life? Did you want to be happy? Are there any particular things that you want to say you did that made you happy. What are those things?
Some may think that it's all about achievement and I think that achievement can be individual. Some want grandiose achievements, others want smaller things, but they are significant for them. Achievement is one thing. I do want you to achieve anything you put your mind to but there is another element that is also very important, and that's how you FEEL during your lifetime.
This is why we should work on our mindset, improve the environment we live in, and as we achieve the benefits of accomplishments, we want to feel good afterwards.
I'm going to share with you my own personal example. When I was 18 I left home, I moved to another country all by myself. I felt it was easy to do. My belief system told me that yeah it's easy to move to another country, nothing to worry about, so that's how I went about it, that's how I saw it, and acted on it. It wasn't a big deal for me, I went on Google, researched what I needed to, applied to things as needed, sorted it out and off I went.
The reason I bring this up is because since I've done this and other travel experiences by myself, I've received a lot of questions from people such as :“how did you have the courage to do that?” and “Did you know anybody there?” No, I didn't know anybody. “How did you manage to do it? It must have been so scary!” The truth is none of it seemed scary to me, it wasn't a big deal, I embraced every challenge and enjoyed every minute of my exciting journey! I was all by myself, nobody guided me, just a one way ticket, hasta luego. That is my answer, I didn't have a special courage to do so. It was just in my belief system. The reality is moving to another country isn't difficult, it just needs to align with your belief system.
I’d like to add that choosing to reach out to supportive people around you helps a great deal. I had a supportive family and group of friends, any of whom I could call at any time for advice or a friendly chat. This strengthened my internal belief system.
Even if it is not the reality, with a belief system that is positive you will be able to achieve what may seem like the impossible. Just because your belief system gets you over that big hurdle.
Step 1. Develop self Mastery.
Know what and who you want to be and make all of life’s small decisions as that person.
Self-mastery means taking full accountability and ownership of your life. It involves having a clear vision of your future self, allowing you to steer yourself in the right direction. Talk to yourself. Challenge the inner voice that fills you with self-doubt. Be present. Observe your life as it unfolds. Determine your needs versus wants.
Step 2. Focus on Your Journey and Enjoy the Ride
Achieving your goals is all about doing it your way. Life is full of distractions and discouragements. Things don’t always go exactly to plan. It is important to remember that it is your journey to enjoy and embrace and this flexibility and ownership can bring you more success in achieving your goals. As each person’s definition of personal success is different, it also means that everyone’s journey is different too. When you have clarity of what you want to achieve and accept the responsibility that you control its outcome, all that’s left is to enjoy the journey. Your outlook is crucial to your success. Believe in yourself and surround yourself with people who support you and those who share your goals.
Step 3. Plan achievements.
When it comes to season success, I’m sure many will agree with me that the hardest part is starting. Once you have taken the first step towards your goal, you can continue.
“If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done.” –Bruce Lee
Once you’ve taken your first steps, you can start to plan a more direct route to your path to success. Those first steps can give you an idea of possible upcoming roadblocks or different paths you may need to take. Now is the time to put some effort into an overall plan. You may find that you detour from it, and that’s fine. The idea is to have a general roadmap so you can make the most efficient decisions and make the most of your time and energy.
A major hurdle on your path to achieving your season goals will be making the time to put in the effort. Season life is very busy and it can be easy to say “mañana, mañana”.
Most importantly, HAVE FUN. Being a seasonaire is all about working to enjoy your life. The snow. The sun. The mountains. The Sea. The party. The food. Whatever it may be that brings you joy in season life. Be present in every moment. Wear your YES hat. Keep your head up. Maintain glass half full. Be grateful for all the good things.
Step 4. Share your life
Sharing is different for everyone since some of us are more extroverted and others more generally introverted so don’t let your differences stop you from sharing your brilliant ideas, your happiness, your experiences with others.
Psychologists have proved that sharing our experiences with others can give us feelings of happiness and joy. Sharing your feelings, goals and mini achievements can increase self-affirmation as well as realizing and strengthening your goals.
